At The Bethany Terrace, we know today's aging seniors have many health care options. When managing their own homes becomes a challenge, the priority is moving into a quality health care environment that provides the appropriate supportive services.

It is the mission of The Bethany Terrace is to provide holistic health care for people of all faiths in a safe, cheerful, and compassionate environment where the individual's dignity is respected as his or her physical and spiritual needs are met.
Mission Statement
The Bethany Terrace is a division of Bethany Homes and Methodist Hospital, is a not-for-profit long-term, skilled and intermediate-care nursing facility, licenced by the State of Illinois.
Related to the Northern Illinois Conference of The United Methodist Church, The Bethany Terrace values its Judeo-Christian heritage, believing that all members of its community--including residents, their families and friends, and staff members--have received a variety of God-given gifts intended for use in service to others. With a particular call to care for vulnerable individuals, especially older adults, The Bethany Terrace's purpose are the following:
- Provide long-term health and related services--emphasizing convalescent, rehabilitative, wound, respite, Dementia/Alzheimer's, and
terminal care--in a secure, personalized, home-like, and well-maintained environment - Ensure that programs support the medical, emotional, social, recreational, and spiritual needs of residents
- Treat all persons--including residents, their friends and families, and staff--with dignity and respect
- Offer appropriate opportunities for residents to achieve maximum levels of independence
- Support residents, their families and friends, and the community with education about aging and the needs of older adults

At The Bethany Terrace, it is our mission to provide holistic health care for people of all faiths in a safe, cheerful and compassionate environment where the individual’s dignity is preserved. We approach residents’ diverse needs with a variety of therapies, activities and environments. Our highly experienced professionals make our residents feel comfortable and help them to enjoy life every day. The Bethany Terrace’s award-winning, landscaped gardens and other outdoor amenities provide pleasant and therapeutic surroundings, while our broad range of services permits residents to truly feel at home at The Bethany Terrace.
LEVELS OF CARE
- In recent years, we have expanded our services to accommodate a wide range of needs.
- The latest addition to our facility, the Terrace Suites area, offers the comfort and beauty comparable to an assisted living type environment while providing all levels of care to meet individual needs. With the safety net of onsite, 24-hour nursing care, our Terrace Suites residents have the best of all worlds— the privacy of their own home with outings, scheduled activities and readily available medical care. The Terrace Suites are accessible through a separate entrance that gives these residents an additional sense of independent living.
- Our Alzheimer’s units help older adults to continue socializing, enjoying nature, participating in activities and and are ability centered. Our customized care plans ensure that treatment is based upon residents’ individual responses to our many therapies. Residents find comfort in a secured, cheery environment that has been designed specifically to address their daily needs.
- Our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center provides a transitional setting for rehab clients to improve their life skills while preparing to return home.
- Complex care services such as our Wound Management, Oncology Management and Infectious Disease Management programs bring a unique comprehensiveness to The Bethany Terrace.
- Physical, occupational, and speech therapists are available for residents that require individualized rehabilitation services.

FAMILY AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Our residents’ home is open to their families at all times. With no fixed visiting hours, The Bethany Terrace welcomes relatives for visits on their own schedule. We make our professional staff available to the families, consult families when we develop each resident’s care plan, and provide support groups for family members to meet with people facing similar circumstances.
In addition, our wonderful community volunteers contribute more than 20,000 hours annually, providing friendship and companionship for The Bethany Terrace residents.
A PROUD TRADITION OF SERVICE
Founded in 1965, The Bethany Terrace is a division of the Bethany Methodist Corporation, a not-for-profit health care organization that has served the Chicago community for more than 115 years.
Licenses and Certifications
The Bethany Terrace is certified by Medicare and Medicaid, licensed by the State of Illinois, a participant in Medicaid's Exceptional Care Program, and accepted by some managed-care plans.
The Bethany Terrace also accepts respite care and hospice residents.
